Skyrim Search

What is Skyrim Search?

Skyrim Search is a database web utility to help you find item codes and many other Skyrim codes to use with Skyrim's console commands on the PC. These codes are also called Form IDs, Base IDs or Reference IDs. If you found this site, you are probably familiar with using the Skyrim console, since it's very similar to Bethesda's previous games Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Be sure to visit the "Features" page for my Console Commands article and more.

Why use Skyrim Search?

The advantage of using Skyrim Search instead of other websites is that this site has been specifically designed to help you find Skyrim console codes as quickly and easily as possible, without unnecessary information or advertisements getting in your way or unnecessary clicks wasting your time and coming between you and your codes. At the same time, this site does offer some stat information about almost all items, so that you don't need to go out to another site to find out whether Dwarven arrows or Elven arrows have the highest damage rating.

Site Updates

In 2015, SkyrimSearch.com was updated to make it much more functional not only on desktop browsers but especially on mobile devices and tablets. The site also went dark - if you're gaming in a dark room, the last thing you need is a bright website. In 2018, the Quest stages and descriptions, as well as the full text of Books, were finally restored on the site.

How to use Skyrim Search

Type the name of the location, character, apparel, weapon, item, spell, perk, book, or other code that you're looking for into the searchbar above. That's all there is to it! Or, you can choose the "Categories" page from the menu and browse or search individual categories of codes. When you search from the home page, keep an eye out for the link to see the full results if there are more than 5 results in a category.

If you're interested in Quests, they aren't searchable from the homepage searchbar. First choose "Quests" from the menu, then browse or search all quests, and finally click on the quest you're interested in to see all the details for that quest.

The search routines search for your complete phrase, so it's best to use short search phrases. The #1 reason for not finding what you're looking for is a spelling mistake.

What codes are included?

Skyrim Search includes codes from Skyrim and its official DLCs Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. The first 2 digits of DLC codes are colored in blue, because they can change depending on your mod load order. If you can't find a code, please feel free to contact me. However, before you do, make sure that the item in question is part of vanilla Skyrim or the official DLCs. The #2 reason for not finding a code is because the item in question is part of a mod, and not part of the official game.
